Fund for Investigative Journalism Grant
FIJ
The FIJ offers grants and fellowships tailored to investigative journalists. Mentorship programs are also available.
Rory Peck Trust
The Rory Peck Trust supports freelance journalists through regional projects, assistance grants, and safety training bursaries.
Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism
Based out of Oxford University, these fully-funded fellowships enable journalists to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice.
ICFJ Knight Fellowships
For the International Center for Journalists, candidates may either propose a fellowship topic or apply to a fellowship opening list on the website.
World Journalist Fellowship
NYU’s World Journalists Fellowships are opportunities designated for journalists “working internationally for at least four consecutive years.”
John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship
JSK Journalism Fellowships support diverse journalists from around the world who are deeply engaged in exploring solutions to journalism’s biggest problems.
Alicia Patterson Foundation
The Alicia Patterson Foundation’s fellowships support journalists "engaged in rigorous, probing, spirited, independent and skeptical work that will benefit the public."
Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute
NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute provides a curated list of various grants and fellowships offered globally for journalists.
Leonard C. Goodman Institute
The Leonard C. Goodman Institute finances and supports reporting that “challenges—and changes—the status quo.”
McGraw Fellowship for Business Journalism
The McGraw Fellowship is designed to "enable experienced journalists to do the deep reporting” necessary for business journalism.
Joan Shorenstein Fellowship
The Joan Shorenstein Fellowship at Harvard was developed to inspire critical thinking and to fund journalists to “write on issues central to our media and politics.”
World Press Institute Fellowship
The WPI Fellowship funds journalists to explore stories on the relationship between free press, the government, business transparency, and accountability.
Dart Ochberg Fellowships
Dart Ochberg Fellowships “improve reporting on violence, conflict and tragedy” and increase awareness of emotional trauma.
Dalla Lana Fellowship in Global Journalism
The Dalla Lana Fellowship in Global Journalism is geared towards outstanding subject-matter specialists.

Niemann-Berkman Klein Fellowship in Journalism Innovation
The Niemann-Berkman Klein Fellowship at Harvard University fosters research and writing on “any issue relating to journalism’s digital transformation.”
